Anthony Cartwright, a tight end from Detroit Country Day, announced Sunday he is verbally committing to play at Oregon in 2027.
Cartwright chose Oregon out of a final five that included Michigan State, Michigan, LSU and Miami (Florida). Cartwright’s father, Tony, attended Michigan State.
The 6-foot-5, 230-pound Cartwright is considered a four-star recruit by Rivals, which ranks Cartwright as the No. 8 prospect in Michigan for 2027, and No. 16 nationally at his position.
As a junior, Cartwright earned a spot on The Detroit News All-North second team.
Cartwright is the 21st verbal commit in Oregon’s 2027 class, and second from Metro Detroit, joining Harper Woods receiver Dakota Guerrant.
