BOOM! Ohio State football gets commitment from 5-star offensive tackle

BOOM! Ohio State landed one of its priority targets on Friday night with a verbal commitment from 5-star offensive tackle Caden Moss. It’s one of the biggest recruiting wins on the offensive line in years and continues a trend of OSU being in the hunt for several 5-star prospects in the 2027 class.

Out of Jackson, Mississippi, Moss is ranked as the No. 7 offensive tackle and 75th overall prospect in the recruiting cycle according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He continues a trend of some Big Ten schools going down south and getting recruits out of the heart of SEC country, something we’re seeing more and more of. Ohio State beat out Ole Miss, Kentucky, LSU, Oregon, and Tennessee for his services.

OSU has been pursuing the 6-foot, 5-inch, 320-pounder for months, and with the commitment, that should be it on the offensive line for the 2027 class, with six total commitments. The challenge, of course, in this era, will be keeping them in the fold all the way until they sign national letters of intent in December.

With the commitment, Ohio State now has 16 total commitments in the recruiting cycle, with a couple of more 5-star prospects considered a Buckeye lean. The class is currently ranked as the No. 8 overall class in 2027 according to the 247Sports Composite Team rankings.

We’ll continue to follow more recruiting news as it becomes available, but Ohio State appears to be putting together an outstanding class once again.
