LANCASTER — The 2025-26 high school sports season is officially over for the Lancaster Eagle-Gazette coverage area.
There were several outstanding team performances over the last school year. It’s now time to determine which team you think deserves to be the Eagle-Gazette Team of the Year.
Five teams are nominated.
Fans are encouraged to vote in the Eagle-Gazette Team of the Year Poll to determine who they think is the area’s No. 1 team this season. Fans can vote as often as allowed.
The poll will run from 6 a.m. Tuesday to 5 p.m. Friday. The winner will be revealed soon after the survey concludes.
Here is the list of teams and what they accomplished:
Fairfield Union baseball: Won MSL-Buckeye Division, district, and regional championships and reached the state final four for the first time since 1986.
Lancaster softball: Won district and regional titles and was the Division I state runner-up, which is the best finish in school history.
Bloom-Carroll softball: Won district and regional titles and won the Division III state championship.
Liberty Union softball: Won MSL, district, and regional titles, reached the state championship game for the third straight year, and finished Division V state runner-up.
Bloom-Carroll volleyball: Won MSL, district, and regional championships and was the Division III state runner-up, finishing with a 27-2 record.
