How long has Jarrian Jones been with the Jaguars?

Jones was selected by the Jaguars with the 96th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Recapping Jarrian Jones’ 2025 season

Like the rest of the defense, Jones had to learn a new scheme under Anthony Campanile. Additionally, he transitioned to being a zone coverage defender after spending most of his career man-to-man. This led to a breakout sophomore season, in which he earned 78.4 overall defensive grade from Pro Football Focus, ranking 5th among 114 qualified NFL cornerbacks. He excelled in both run defense and coverage, and in 17 games, racked up 49 tackles (35 solo), six tackles for loss, eight passes defended, and three interceptions.

Looking ahead to 2026 for Jarrian Jones

Jones will need to build on his success from last season, which seems likely considering he won’t be dealing with as much change.

“I’m a lot more comfortable than I was last year, while also keeping that same intensity up,” Jones said during minicamp. “I want to learn and be better at what I’m doing. When I first came to the league I hadn’t played much zone. At Florida State, it was man-to-man. Came in my rookie year, man-to-man. So when Camp and them got here, they were teaching me quarter flat, buzz, and I had never done that. Never did none of that before, so I feel a lot more comfortable than the last OTA.”

Considering Jones played as well as he did despite having to navigate a learning curve, the expectations for his performance in 2026 are high. Montaric Brown, Travis Hunter, and Jourdan Lewis will lead the way at cornerback for the Jaguars, but Jones will likely find ways onto the field with his versatility and ability to help out in the run game.
