The first islander of “Love Island USA” season 8 has been dumped from the villa.
The first recoupling of the season took place during episode 5 of the popular reality TV dating show and it left one boy without a partner. And whoever was the odd man would leave the island just shy of one week and without finding love.

Who went home on Love Island USA season 8?
Sean Reifel was dumped at the end of episode 5 of season 8 of “Love Island USA.” He’s the first islander to depart the show.
Reifel was ultimately the victim of the two bombshells that came into the villa over the first week.
First, the 29-year-old police officer from Easton, Pennsylvania, lost initial partner Beatriz Hatz, a Paralympian, during the second episode after the first bombshell of the season, Gabriel Vasconcelos, stole her from him.
Reifel was surprised Hatz wanted to explore a different connection so soon but, during their conversations, they proved they weren’t too compatible – Sean loves country music and Hatz is no fan, for example.
That left Reifel single the last few days. He used the time to explore connections, particularly with single girl Kenzie Annis, who also lost her first partner during the bombshell steal.
While it may have been because of their circumstance, they appeared to be growing closer.
But Annis was also connecting with new bombshell, Corbin Mims. And since he just arrived into the villa a day earlier, Mims got to choose first who he wanted to parter with in a couple during the recoupling ceremony. He chose Annis.
That left five girls and six boys. All the girls chose their current boys for their couple, leaving Reifel single and dumped from the villa.
Who is Sean from Love Island USA?
Reifel was among the 10 initial islanders who entered the villa on the first day. Along with Bryce Dettloff, he was the oldest islander at 29. Reifel is also a father to a 2-year-old child back home, a detail he told the cast on the first day.
He mentioned on the show how much he loves being a dad and now wanted a partner to share his life with.
“What better than love?” he said in his introduction package.
Reifel, who had previously been in a 10-year relationship, also noted on the show how much he loves his job as a police officer. But while he was away, the city he previously worked for in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, addressed his departure to be part of the reality show.
“I love Sean, he’s a good guy, he was a great officer, but I’m disappointed,” Police Chief Michelle Kott told news outlet The Morning Call. “Just because we work so incredibly hard to try to recruit the best people we can to be part of the Bethlehem Police Department.”
And the city’s mayor, J. William Reynolds, told news outlet WHTM: “We are disappointed he left as we now have another vacancy in our department that is impossible to fill until next year. I never thought I’d see the day in America where reality-show participation wins out over being a police officer.”
The mayor also told WHTM in Pennsylvania that Reifel resigned from the police department after the city spent thousands of taxpayer dollars on his training and police academy education.
