Sunday will mark the first Cup Series race at MIS since the death of Kyle Busch, who won at MIS in 2011. Denny Hamlin, who is currently second overall in the Cup Series standings, won at MIS in 2025 and is looking to be the first back-to-back winner at the race since Kevin Harvick in 2019-20.
Tyler Reddick, the Cup Series leader who drives the No. 45 car for 23XI Racing Toyota (owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan and Hamlin), won in 2024 at MIS. The recently retired Kevin Harvick has won five times at MIS, most recently in 2022, tied with NASCAR Hall of Famer David Pearson for the most ever at MIS.
