Made mostly of black steel, concrete and stained wood, a modern custom-built home in Lenawee County is on the market.
The home at 8676 Cherry Point Road on Manitou Beach-Devils Lake has three bedrooms, four bathrooms and a partial bedroom across 4,572 square feet. It is listed for $2.25 million.
In the Irish Hills and off the lake are the home’s top boastings.
“Most of the houses that are going up anymore are what we call tear-downs: they buy a house $200,000- $500,000 and they tear them down and build these huge structures. This is one of those,” Mark Goedert, the home’s realtor, said.
“The cabinetry in the kitchen was literally hand-made metal cabinetry. It’s really cool,” he said. “One of the tables is handmade metal and is attached down to the floors,” he said, adding that the main floor has a floating staircase and heated floors.
It also has two kitchens with a walk-in pantry and a service bar.
The owner’s suite has a view of Devil’s Lake sand and gravel beach made possible by one of three 12-foot by 12-foot decks.
“It’s got a view of the lake … you walk in one room and you see one part of the lake, a panoramic view,” Goedert said. It has a lakefront patio, too.
Goedert, who also lives on Devil’s Lake, says the view and lakeside living give peace and serenity.
It’s close to Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, as well as wineries and restaurants.
“Thoughtfully designed for both comfort and elegance, the home boasts engineered hardwood and porcelain flooring, radiant in-floor heating on the main level and in the garage, a dedicated exercise room, and spacious walk-in closets throughout,” its listing says.
