Motor City Pride returns June 6-7. Here's what to know

The rainbow takeover is back. Motor City Pride – Michigan’s largest LGBTQ+ celebration, returns this weekend with two days of music, movement and joy along Detroit’s riverfront.

When and where

Motor City Pride runs 1-9 p.m. Saturday, June 6, and 12:30-7 p.m. Sunday, June 7, at Hart Plaza in downtown Detroit. Gates close one hour prior to each day’s end. The festival transforms the riverfront into a colorful hub of celebration, community and visibility.

The parade

The Pride parade steps off at noon Sunday at Ford and Griswold in downtown Detroit and proceeds to Hart Plaza. Expect floats, dancers, marching groups and plenty of glitter.

What you’ll see (and hear)

This is no quiet gathering. It’s a full-on outdoor party featuring four stageswith live music, DJs and performances; drag, spoken word and experimental acts, and a riverfront dance floor that doesn’t quit. The music includes pop, house and more.

Come hungry (and curious)

Festivalgoers will encounter food trucks and drink vendors; booths showcasing the work of artists and makers; and displays from community groups and nonprofits. With crowds often reaching tens of thousands, Motor City Pride is part street fair, part celebration and part cultural showcase.

Tickets and entry

Admission is $5.99. Tickets will be available at the gate or online at eventbrite.com. The parade is free to watch, making Sunday one of the most accessible Pride experiences in the region.
