Indianapolis homicide tracker 2026

IndyStar is tracking homicides to better understand violence in the city. This list is preliminary and updated as regularly as possible. This information is compiled using data from Indianapolis police, the coroner, court records and interviews with family and friends of those killed. Anyone with information that could help a homicide investigation is asked to call the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Office at 317-327-3475 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477 to remain anonymous.

Brett Scrogham, 23, dies in shooting near convention center

May 30: Brett Scrogham, 23, died two days after being shot at a parking garage in downtown. Scrogham was shot just after 6:10 p.m. May 28 at a garage at 101 S. Capitol Ave.

A person was detained and later released.

On June 3, police announced a 14-year-old boy was arrested in the case.

Patricia Wieber, 65, dies in shooting on N. Rural Street

May 28: Around 8:18 p.m., police were dispatched to 36 N. Rural Street where they found a woman in a vehicle with gunshot wounds. The woman was transported to the hospital in critical condition and died. She was identified as Patricia Wieber, 65, by the coroner’s office.

Police have taken a 75-year-old suspect into custody after a police chase that ended with the suspect shot by officers.

Man dies month after shooting on S. German Church Road

May 27: A man who was shot more than a month earlier on the city’s east side succumb to his injuries. The man was found shot just before 2 p.m. April 22 in the 200 block of South German Church Road. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition but early May 27 he died at a rehabilitation facility while trying to recover from the gunshot wounds.

No suspects were immediately announced.

Jamell Williams, 16, dies in Renn Lane shooting

May 24: At 7:45 p.m. police responded to a shooting in the 5700 block of Renn Lane. When officers arrived, they found Jamell Williams, 16, with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Za Sean Allen Davis, 29, found shot near James Run Way

May 24: Just after 4 a.m., police were dispatched to a shooting in the 1700 block of James Run Way. Upon arrival, they located Za’Sean Davis, 29, in a vehicle with gunshot wounds. Davis was transported to the hospital in critical condition and pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

Early May 26 police announced an arrest in this case.

Gregory Montrez Anderson, 32, dies in downtown shooting

May 24: A little after 3 a.m., police found two men and a woman shot near 100 S. Meridian Street. One of the men died after being taken to the hospital in critical condition. He was identified as Gregory Montrez Anderson, 32, by the coroner’s office.

On June 4, police took a woman into custody in connection with the killing.

Armonty Haddix, 17, dies in Iowa Street double shooting

May 20: Just before 9 p.m. officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 100 block of Iowa Street near its intersection with South Talbot Street in the city’s Old Southside neighborhood. Arriving officers found two juveniles with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to the hospital in critical condition, where 17-year-old Armonty Haddix died.

No suspects were immediately announced.

Joshua Thompson, 30, dies in shooting at Budget 8 Inn

May 14: About 6:25 p.m., police were called to the Budget 8 Inn, at 6850 E 21st St., about a person shot. Officers found Joshua Thompson, 30, shot, and he was taken to the hospital in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead.

A person was questioned and released after police consulted with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.

Angela Mitchell, 48, and Hayden Devere De Los Santos, 19, after stabbings on South Lockburn Street

May 12: At 2:42 p.m. police were called about a stabbing in the 3200 block of South Lockburn Street in the Mars Hill neighborhood. Officers found four people stabbed. Two women and a man were found outside a residence and another man was found inside. The man found inside, Hayden Devere De Los Santos, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene. The women were taken to the hospital in critical condition. The man found outside was taken to the hospital in serious condition. One of the women, Angela Mitchell, 48, died May 16 at Eskenazi Hospital.

Police said the stabbing was an isolated incident. Police announced via email May 13 that De Los Santos is believed to have died from a self-inflicted injury but the coroner’s office said his death remains “pending investigation.”

Darren Lashan McMiller, 58, found shot on Red Mill Drive

May 10: Just after 11 p.m., police were called about a person shot at an apartment complex in the 7900 block of Red Mill Drive. Officers found Darren Lashan McMiller, 58, outside with gunshot injuries. He was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition before being pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

Police took a 63-year-old suspect into custody.

Jaivias Shandice Wilson, 23, found shot in the area of East 10th Street and North Shadeland Avenue

May 9: At 11:59 p.m., police were called about a person shot in the 7000 block of East 10th Street near the intersection with North Shadeland Avenue. Officers found Jaivias Shandice Wilson, 23, shot on a sidewalk. He was taken to Methodist Hospital in critical condition before later being pronounced dead.

A person at the scene was detained by Indianapolis Metropolitan Police.

Izaak Garcia, 26, dies in double shooting at gas station near East 10th and North College

May 5: At 10:22 p.m., police were called about a person shot in the area of East 11th Street and North College Avenue. Officers found a man shot and he was taken to a hospital in critical condition. Police later linked the shooting to one in the 1000 block of North Emerson Avenue that officers were called about the same time. There, they found Izaak Garcia, 26, shot and in critical condition. He was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital. Police have said they believe the shooting is “an isolated” case.

No arrests were immediately announced.

Cornell Deshaun Davis, 37, found shot dead inside home on Windsor Drive

May 5: At 9 p.m., police were called about a person shot at a home in the 6000 block of Windsor Drive. Officers found Cornell Deshaun Davis, 37, inside the home shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A person was detained, but later released after consultation with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.

Brittany Marie Members, 38, found shot, two others hurt in shooting at post-prom party on North Park Avenue

May 3: Just before 1 a.m., police received multiple 911 calls about a shooting at a home in the 4000 block of North Park Avenue. Officers found Brittany Marie Members, 38, shot at a house where a post-prom party was underway on the city’s north side. She was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition before being pronounced dead. Later that morning, two other people arrived at Methodist Hospital with gunshot wounds. Police believe both were hurt at the same party. Their conditions were not shared by police.

No suspects were immediately announced.

Ashlynn Owens, 20, found shot at trailer park on Rockville Road

May 2: Just before midnight, police were called about a person shot at a trailer park in the 4900 block of Rockville Road. Officers found Ashlynn Owens, 20, with gunshot injuries. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition before being pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

No suspects were immediately announced.

Juelz Lamar Nance, 22, found shot outside home on Brookside Parkway South Drive

May 1: Just after 10 p.m., police were called about a person shot in the 3600 block of Brookside Parkway South Drive. Officers found Juelz Lamar Nance, 22, shot outside a home. He was pronounced dead after arriving at a local hospital.

No suspects were immediately announced.

April Lynn Fletcher, 40, found shot at home on East 41st Street, dies one day later

April 28: At 8:45 p.m., officers were called about a person shot at a home in the 5500 block of East 41st Street. Officers found 40-year-old April Lynn Fletcher shot inside the house, and she was taken to a hospital in critical condition. She was later pronounced dead in the early morning hours of April 29.

Two people were detained and later released upon consultation with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.

Lameke Queshawn Boykins, 33, dies after shooting on North Euclid Avenue

April 27: Just before 4 p.m., police were called about a person shot at a home in the 2800 block of North Euclid Avenue. Officers found Lameke Queshawn Boykins, 33, shot outside. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition before later being pronounced dead.

No suspects were immediately announced.

Aaron Israel Smith, 39, found shot at gas station on North Mitthoefer Road

April 26: At 6:45 p.m., police were called about a person shot at a gas station in the 3800 block of North Mitthoefer Road. Officers found Aaron Israel Smith, 39, shot, and he was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead.

No suspects were immediately announced.

Nehemiah Keshun Golson, 29, found shot inside vehicle that crashed into building on East 10th Street

April 25: At 12:12 a.m., police were called about a personal vehicle injury in the 5000 block of East 10th Street. Officers found a pickup that had crashed into the side of a building. The man driving the pickup, Nehemiah Keshun Golson, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene. While investigating, detectives found that the Golson had been shot.

A 15-year-old boy in the pickup was taken to a hospital in stable condition. No suspects were immediately announced.

Jason L. Valentine, 40, found shot outside home on South Pennsylvania Street

April 18: Around 9:45 p.m., police were called about a person shot in the 2300 block of South Pennsylvania Street. Officers found Jason L. Valentine, 40, shot outside of a home. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition before being pronounced dead.

No suspect information was immediately announced.

Darius Deleon Maye, 36, found stabbed outside home on East 42nd Street

April 17: Just after noon, police were called about a person stabbed at a home in the 8200 block of East 42nd Street. Officers found a man outside the house with traumatic injuries. Darius Deleon Maye, 36, was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.

No suspect information was immediately announced.

Robert Doryan Golliday, 22, found shot dead at apartment complex on Radnor Road

April 15: Just before 7:30 p.m., police were called about a person shot at an apartment complex in the 5900 block of Radnor Road. Officers found Robert D. Golliday, 22, shot and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 19-year-old was arrested in this case on May 4, 2026.

Yanira Arce Gonzalez, 42, and man found dead at home on Congress Avenue

April 14: Just after 6 p.m., police were called about an apparent suicide at a home in the 1200 block of Congress Avenue. Officers found Rafael Rosado Roman, 51, outside with unspecified injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene from a suicide. Witnesses told police there was a woman who lived at the home, and when officers weren’t able to get in contact with her, they went inside, where they found her unresponsive.

Yanira Arce Gonzalez, 42, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rachael Lynn Rakes, 33, found shot in double shooting on Westbrook Avenue

April 12: At 12:38 a.m., police were called about a person shot at a home in the 800 block of Westbrook Avenue. Officers found a man shot on the front porch of a home, and Rachael Lynn Rakes, 33, was discovered shot inside. They were both taken to a hospital in critical condition, but Rakes was later pronounced dead at Eskenazi Hospital.

A suspect has been arrested in this case.

Tyrane Del Ray McCoy, 30, found shot outside a home on Manhattan Avenue

April 4: Just after 3 p.m., police were called about a person shot at a home in the 800 block of Manhattan Avenue. Officers found Tyrane Del Ray McCoy, 30, shot outside a house. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition, but died shortly upon arrival.

No suspect information was immediately announced.

Samuel Toussaint, 22, found shot dead inside home on Oliver Avenue

April 4: Just before 4:30 a.m., police were called about a person shot at a home in the 5600 block of Oliver Avenue. Officers found a Samuel Toussaint, 22, shot inside. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No suspect information was immediately announced.

Xavier Derryl Brown-Douglas, 24, found shot at mobile home on Leisure Manor

April 2: At 10:47 p.m., police were called about a person shot at a mobile home in the 4700 block of Leisure Manor. Officers found Xavier Derryl Brown-Douglas, 24, shot inside, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman was detained, but later released after consultation with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.

Rebecca June Carter, 21, found shot at home on Carlyle Place

April 1: At 11:48 p.m., police were called about a person shot at a home in the 500 block of Carlyle Place. Officers found a woman shot. Rebecca June Carter, 21, was taken to a hospital in critical condition before being pronounced dead.

Her 20-year-old boyfriend was detained on the scene and later arrested on the preliminary charge of reckless homicide.

Eliud Isai Raudales Ramos, 38, found shot at home on Kingsley Drive

March 30: At 4:04 a.m., police were called about a person shot at a home in the 4300 block of Kingsley Drive. Officers found 38-year-old Eliud Isai Raudales Ramos shot, and he was taken to a hospital in critical condition before later being pronounced dead.

Police said a person was detained on scene, but later released after consultation with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.

Tre’Von Riggins, 15, found shot near playground within apartment complex

March 28: Just after 7:15 p.m., police were called to a shooting near a playground in the 5300 block of Rue Deville. They found Tre’Von Riggins, 15, who was taken to a hospital in critical condition before later being pronounced dead.

No suspect information was immediately announced.

William Cancel Coriano, 49, found shot at intersection of East 21st Street and Rama Place

March 25: Just before 8 p.m. police were called about a person shot at the intersection of East 21st Street and Rama Place on the city’s east side. Officers found William Cancel Coriano, 49, with gunshot wounds and he was taken to Methodist Hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

No suspect information was immediately announced.

Jose Manuel Raygoza Robledo, 26, found shot dead in triple shooting on North Tacoma Avenue

March 22: At 4:20 a.m. police were called about a person shot in the 400 block of North Tacoma Avenue, where they found three people with gunshot wounds. Jose Manuel Raygoza Robledo, 26, was pronounced dead on the scene, while two women were taken to the hospital, one in critical condition.

No suspect information was immediately announced.

Martez Starks, 42, shot in front of church during funeral on East 32nd

March 21: At 9:55 a.m., police were called about a person shot at 704 E. 32nd St. Officers found two people with gunshot wounds outside Antioch Baptist Church, where a funeral was happening. Both were taken to a hospital. One man was in stable condition, but Martez Starks, 42, was in critical condition at Methodist Hospital before later being pronounced dead.

No suspects were immediately announced.

Justin Hignite, 24, shot outside LongHorn Steakhouse in parking lot

March 15: At 8:49 p.m., police were called about a person shot outside the Longhorn Streak House at 5910 E 82nd St. Officers found Justin Hignite, 24, shot, and he was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in critical condition before being pronounced dead.

Officers detained three people who were later released upon consultation with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.

Caleb Alexander Evans, 21, found dead in double shooting at home on Central Avenue

March 13: At 8:10 p.m., police were called about a person shot at a home in the 3200 block of Central Avenue. Officers found two men shot. Caleb Alexander Evans, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other man was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

No suspects were immediately announced.

Gregory Jayjuan Clifton, 22, found shot dead inside vehicle on Decamp Drive

March 12: At 4:04 p.m., police were called about a death investigation in the 3600 block of Decamp Drive. Officers found Gregory Jayjuan Clifton, 22, shot inside a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No suspects were immediately announced.

Kimberly Stewart, 51, found dead from trauma on South Lynhurst Drive

March 10: At 11:04 p.m., police were called about a death investigation at a home in the 1300 block of South Lynhurst Drive. Officers found Kimberly Stewart, 51, in the rear lawn of her property with traumatic injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man was arrested.

Codey Antoine Garrard, 28, found shot on Edgemere Court

March 7: Shortly after 1 a.m., police were called about shots being fired in the 4100 block of Edgemere Court. Officers found Codey Antoine Garrard, 28, and he was taken to a hospital in critical condition before being pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Police detained at least four persons of interest.

Bonnie Sue Arnold, 59, found dead after arson fire at mobile home park

Feb. 25: Shortly after 8:30 a.m., police were called about an unresponsive person in the 2800 block of Landola Lane at a mobile home park. Bonnie Sue Arnold, 59, was found inside the bedroom of a mobile home, which had “extensive fire damage.” The fire was later determined to be arson.

A man was arrested.

De’Aundre C. Hart, 18, found shot in neighborhood on North Webster Avenue

Feb 21: At 3:06 p.m., police were called about a person shot in the 1400 block of North Webster Avenue. Officers found De’Aundre C. Hart, 18. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition and pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

No immediate suspects were announced.

Jaidon Matthews, 18, dies at hospital after shooting on Camden Street

Feb. 19: At 6:03 p.m., police were called to Community Hospital South about a man who arrived after being shot. Jaidon Matthews, 18, would later be pronounced dead, and witness statements given to officers indicate that he was shot at a home in the 7000 block of Camden Street.

A person of interest was detained, but later released after consulting with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officer Brian Elliott, 33, killed while responding to domestic disturbance at Beech Meadows Apartments

Feb. 16 (Beech Grove): Just before 5:45 p.m., Beech Grove Police Officer Brian Elliott was dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of Diplomat Court. When he arrived at the scene with a colleague, he heard a woman screaming for help and kicked down the door, only to be met with a barrage of gunfire, according to court documents.

Elliott and his coworker were both shot. They were taken to Eskenazi Hospital, where Elliott was pronounced dead. Kenneth Johnson, 47, faces charges of murder and attempted murder.

Michael C. Lockridge, 56, found shot dead inside a burned vehicle on West 29th Street

Feb. 8: At 1:16 p.m., police were called about a death investigation at a home in the 800 block of West 29th Street. Officers found Michael C. Lockridge, 56, dead inside a torched vehicle, and detectives are investigating the case as a homicide. Indianapolis Fire crews put the fire out before officers arrived on the scene. The Marion County Coroner’s Office said Lockridge’s cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.

No immediate suspects were announced.

DaShawn Julian Pope, 21, and Omari Ronnell Gibson, 21, die after quadruple shooting on Barrington Avenue

Feb. 1: At 5:47 a.m., police were called about a person shot at an apartment in the 2700 block of Barrington Avenue. Officers found a man shot inside a vehicle, and another man shot in the street. DaShawn Julian Pope, 21, and Omari Ronnell Gibson, 21, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

A short time later, police were called to Community East Hospital. Officers found a man and a woman shot, both in stable condition, where they were awake and breathing. Investigators believe they were shot in the 2700 block of Barrington Avenue.

Detectives are investigating the involvement and relationship of all involved.

Michael Bolden III, 37, found shot after crash on Meridian Street West Drive

Feb. 1: At 2:21 a.m., police were called about shots fired at a neighborhood in the 6200 block of Meridian Street West Drive. Officers saw a two-vehicle crash, and found Michael Bolden III, 37, shot inside one of the cars. He was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in critical condition. A woman, who police originally thought was shot, was also taken to a hospital in stable condition, but she was later discovered to have only injuries resulting from the car crash. Bolden died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

No suspects were immediately announced.

Christopher Thomas Fitzgerald II, 33, found shot inside apartment on Hatteras Lane

Jan. 27: Just after 5:30 p.m., police were called about a person shot in the 7200 block of Hatteras Lane. Officers found Christopher Thomas Fitzgerald II, 33, shot inside an apartment, and police performed CPR on him until Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services arrived. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

No suspects were immediately announced.

Andrece Dejuan Tigner, 34, found shot dead inside apartment at Laurelwood complex

Jan. 26: At 11:20 p.m., police were called about a person shot in the 3300 block of Laurel Street. Officers found Andrece Dejuan Tigner, 34, shot inside an apartment, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

No suspects were immediately announced.

Brian Sidney Bowen Jr., 20, and Jesus Brown, 20 found shot in triple shooting where juvenile also shot on Pointe Club Road

Jan. 18: At 12:41 a.m., police were called about a person shot at a home in the 2700 block of Pointe Club Road. Officers found Brian Sidney Bowen Jr., 20, Jesus Brown, 20, and one juvenile shot. They were taken to a hospital, with the men being in critical condition and the juvenile in stable condition. Both men were later pronounced dead.

No suspects were immediately announced.

Cierra Marie Gingles, 21, found shot dead at a home on Shelby Street

Jan. 14: Just before 9 p.m., police were called about a person shot at home in the 5000 block of Shelby Street near its intersection with East Thompson Road. Officers found Cierra Marie Gingles, 21, shot, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers detained and later arrested a man for his alleged involvement in the shooting.

Kuldeep Singh, 37 and Virender Singh, 38 shot in quadruple Greenwood shooting after birthday party argument

Jan. 10 (Greenwood): Kuldeep Singh, 37, and Virender Singh, 38, were killed, and two others were injured in a shooting just after 11:30 p.m. at a residence on Creek Way and Bent Branch lanes, according to the Greenwood Police Department.

The shooting occurred after two men got into an argument at a birthday party. The two other people hurt were treated at area hospitals. The Johnson County Coroner’s Office said neither of the men were related.

Greenwood Police have not announced any suspects.

Vincent Tyrell Turner, 39, found shot inside apartment on St. Thomas Lane

Jan. 10: Just before 6 p.m., police were called about a person shot in the 3500 block of St. Thomas Lane inside the Spinnaker Court apartment complex. Officers found Vincent Tyrell Turner, 39, shot inside an apartment. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition but died shortly after arriving.

A man was arrested in the case.

Christian Maradiagas Gonzalez, 17, and Brayan Munoz Romero, 20, found shot dead inside stolen car in quadruple shooting

Jan. 3: Just before 7 a.m., police were called about shots being fired in the 5300 block of East 32nd Street at Hawthorn Place apartments complex. Officers found Christian Maradiagas Gonzalez, 17, and Brayan Munoz Romero, 20, shot inside a stolen vehicle. They were both pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people, a juvenile and someone who police believe to be an adult, were shot and taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition.

Police have not announced any suspects.

Lamar Dominic Miller Jr., 17, crashes into a tree on North Tuxedo Street after being shot

Jan. 2: At 12:43 a.m., police were called to a vehicle crash in the 800 block of North Tuxedo Street. When officers arrived, they found a car had crashed into a tree in front of a home, and Indianapolis Fire Department firefighters were rendering aid to Lamar Dominic Miller Jr., 17. That’s when firefighters discovered Miller had been shot, and he was taken to a hospital in critical condition before he died.

Police have not announced any suspects.

Aaron Reid Jr., 18, dies on New Year’s Day from a shooting on Willowood Drive

Jan. 1: At 2:50 a.m. on Dec. 31, 2025, police were called to a person shot in the 3600 block of Willowood Drive at the Willowood East apartments complex. Officers found two people shot. Aaron Reid Jr., 18, was in critical condition, and the other person was in stable condition. The two were taken to a hospital, but Reid died on Jan. 1, 2026.

A man was arrested for the shooting later in the month.
