A shooting shut down the eastbound lanes of Interstate 94 early Friday morning in Detroit.
The Michigan State Police learned of a shooting with one known victim that the agency said happened just before 2 a.m., according to a post on X.
State police said a person arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds, and their vehicle was also hit several times by gunfire.
Authorities did not immediately identify a motive or any person of interest.
Troopers shut down eastbound I-94 between Chalmers Street and Harper Avenue for the investigation, according to MSP’s post. The agency asked drivers to avoid the area and use other routes.
The lanes remained closed shortly after 7 a.m., according to a post by the Michigan Department of Transportation. MDOT advised drivers to re-enter the freeway at Cadieux.
