They’ve done it. The Texas Longhorns softball team has won back-to-back Women’s College World Series NCAA National Championships. The Horns swept Texas Tech in the three game series, winning 7-3 in Game 1 and 4-1 in Game 2. Texas ace pitcher Teagan Kavan also repeated as WCWS MOP, the first time that’s happened in history.
Texas faced Texas Tech in the WCWS Championship Series for the second straight year, the first time in 22 seasons that has happened.
The online reaction to the repeat title has been epic. Longhorns Nation has been posting support for Texas and a few jabs at the big-money roster at Texas Tech, featuring NiJaree Canady who makes a million a year.
There has been a lot of national reaction, including from Major League Baseball, Josh Pate, Jomboy Media and other reporters and outlets that cover college sports.
