Did you know… where Loyola Park was located when this photo was taken? When this photo was taken, Loyola or Legion Park was located west of Perry on Park Street. Today, if you go west on Park Street towards Dawson, just past the river bridge, you can see to the north all that is left of the park. There still remains a swimming platform from the earlier lake. In addition to swimming, there was a dance hall, picnic area, and baseball diamonds. The park opened in 1926, but with the arrival of Lake Robbins in 1931, attendance fell, and the park soon closed.
