Brighton to begin rehabilitation project on South Seventh Street

Brighton is expected to begin a rehabilitation project on South Seventh Street on June 11.

The project stretches along South Seventh Street between Main and Livingston, according to a release. The work includes total removal and replacement of all asphalt pavement, water main improvements, targeted repairs to sidewalks and curbs, and the installation of ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps.

During construction, the street will be closed to thru traffic — residents will be able to access their homes. All other drivers are asked to follow posted detours.

According to the release, completion and reopening is expected before the start of the new school year in late August. For more information, call 810-225-8001 or email dps@brightonciymi.gov.
