Grab your sunblock and flip flops because the ‘Love Island USA’ premiere is almost here.
Season 8 of ‘Love Island USA’ will premiere tonight, June 2, on Peacock, and fans are ready to watch the new islanders take over Fiji and our television screens.
The cast list was announced last week, and unfortunately, it did not include any New Yorkers. No need to fret, though, as last year’s winner, New York’s own Amaya “Papaya” Espinal, came in as a “bombshell” and ended up stealing America’s heart.
Could we see another New York bombshell this summer? Only time will tell.

‘Love Island USA’ removes cast member ahead of premiere
25-year-old Vasana Montgomery was removed from the show after two videos surfaced of Montgomery using a racial slur. One video shows her singing it along with a song, and the other shows her saying it while playing an arcade game.
On May 30, only days after the cast announcement, an Instagram page called “The Reality Rundown” posted videos of Montgomery using the slur. ‘Love Island USA’ removed her ahead of the premiere and has since removed her from the show’s promotional content.
Though it is not clear if she will be replaced, the show is scheduled to go on and premiere tonight as normal.
‘Love Island USA’ gives “first look” ahead of the premiere
‘Love Island USA’ posted a “first look” of the show’s premiere on their Instagram account on Tuesday afternoon.
The clip starts with the first five girls, not including Montgomery, entering the villa, followed by five guys.
‘Love Island USA’ host and former Bravo star, Ariana Maddix, enters the villa in a striking black gown and explains the group’s first makeout challenge of the summer. The 10 islanders are then coupled up.
The end of the teaser shows two “bombshells,” a man and a woman, entering the villa. Though the original cast announcement included 12 islanders, the first look only shows 10. Montgomery’s removal explains the initial absence, but it is not clear whether another guy was removed from the cast or if he will join later as a “bombshell.”

When does ‘Love Island USA’ Season 8 start?
Season 8 of ‘Love Island USA’ is set to premiere on Peacock starting on June 2 at 9 p.m. ET.

Peacock has confirmed that Season 8 of ‘Love Island’ will air daily on Peacock, except on Wednesdays.
‘Love Island’s’ weekly talk show, ‘Aftersun,’ will air on Peacock every Saturday and will feature behind-the-scenes clips, exclusive interviews with the islanders and more.
