Retirees may expect a normal Social Security schedule for June, with the first round of payments starting on Wednesday, June 10.
Social Security checks for retired, disabled workers or survivors are always scheduled on Wednesdays, with June 10, 17 and 24 being the payment dates, according to the Social Security Administration calendar. The schedule is based on the birth dates of the recipients, so the first wave of checks are for those with early-June birthdays.
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) — a SSA federal program that sends monthly benefits to those with limited income or resources — was sent out Monday, June 1, as it is always at the start of each month.
Looking ahead, on May 12, the bipartisan advocacy group, The Senior Citizens League, announced an updated Cost-of-Living (COLA) forecast for 2027 Social Security payments. Experts now predict a 3.9% increase, which would be 1.1 percentage points higher than the increase in 2026.
The official COLA will be announced in October, based on third-quarter inflation data.
