It is do-or-die time for the Florida Gators and the Troy Trojans after the latter took the former behind the shed in a 16-11 win on Sunday in the Gainesville Regional championship game. The Gators outlasted the Rider Broncs, 8-7, in the regional opener on Friday before opening up an offensive onslaught in a 22-10 victory over the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday. The Trojans made it to the championship game after losing to Miami on Friday, 10-5, before beating Rider in the elimination bracket on Saturday, 15-7, and the Hurricanes with a 9-6 victory over Miami in Sunday’s early game.
Monday’s winner will advance to the super regional round. If Florida is the winner, the Gators will host the Gainesville Super Regional from Friday, June 5, to Monday, June 8.
