Police said three men from Ohio had been hired to remove a tree at a residence. While the workers were cutting the final section of the tree, estimated to be about 30 feet long, the Springfield man tried to grab a rope as the tree was falling and was struck in the head by the tree.

The man was taken to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.
