Dolphins legend needs to finally make the Hall of Fame in 2027

When NFL enthusiasts think of the 1990’s Miami Dolphins, quarterback Dan Marino instantly comes to mind, rightfully so, as the team’s best player of all time. However, there is a player who is going under the radar and should be a Hall of Famer sooner rather than later.

Offensive tackle Richmond Webb had an 11-season career with the Dolphins from 1990-2000, protecting Marino’s blindside for most of his career.

In those 11 seasons, Webb dominated, making an undeniable impact and setting two significant franchise records by making seven consecutive Pro Bowls (1990-96) and 118 straight starts as a Dolphin.

NFL analyst Eric Edholm recently released an article naming each NFL team’s next best Hall of Fame candidate. For the Dolphins, he mentioned Webb, Mark Clayton and Bob Kuechenberg as his main candidates.

“Webb is a seven-time Pro Bowler who kept Dan Marino’s pockets clean for the latter half of the QB’s career,” Edholm wrote. “It has been a slow rise through the voting process for the 1990s All-Decade blocker, but Webb elevated to semifinal status the past two years and could continue working his way up the list.”

During his time in Miami, Webb was also named the AFC Rookie of the Year in 1990 and earned First-Team All-Pro honors twice and Second-Team All-Pro honors twice.

Webb has been getting closer to a gold jacket in recent years, but the Dolphins legend is still in pursuit of the grand accomplishment.
