Former two-time MVP award winner Giannis Antetokounmpo recently filmed a commercial with action star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Behind the scenes, Johnson was curious to know what player is toughest for Antetokounmpo to guard. The Milwaukee Bucks star was quick to answer the four-time scoring champion Kevin Durant, saying, “The toughest player gotta be KD. Great talent. Probably the best scorer of all time.”
Currently fifth on the all-time scoring list at age 37, Durant has only averaged fewer than 25 points once during his 18-year career. That season was Durant’s rookie campaign, where the small forward averaged 20.3 points. Of the four players ahead of him, none have matched him in that regard. LeBron James is closest, having averaged fewer than 25 three times in his career (2003-04, 2024-25 and 2025-26). Looking ahead to next year, Durant is less than 1,100 points behind Kobe Bryant for fourth in scoring.
