Spring is the most active time of the year on the football recruiting trail, and Florida is a must-stop for coaches on the road.
With college coaches stopping by practices and completing evaluations, offers and commitments have been flowing. Players are working their way up and down boards and offers become real at this time of the year.
As spring football season wraps up, we’re taking a look at a few players across the Sunshine State that have seen their recruitment enter a new level.
Here are a few names from across the state that college coaches have taken serious notice of this spring:
Derrick Fletcher, Bishop Verot 2029 TE
Fletcher, a 6-foot-6, 240-pound rising sophomore is the most intriguing prospect in southwest Florida. He has shown versatility this offseason, and will play tight end, outside receiver and edge rusher for Bishop Verot this year. He has reeled in 13 offers since the start of 2026 from the likes of Florida, Tennessee, Florida State, Syracuse and North Carolina.
Troy Silberzahn, Eau Gallie 2028 TE
Silberzahn transferred in to Eau Gaillie after going for 141 receiving yards and one touchdown on 14 catches with 74 more yards and two score on 16 carries at Cocoa. The 6-5, 210-pound rising junior has gained offers from Indiana, Florida State, Texas A&M, Nebraska and Penn State since the start of May.
Jackson Snelling, Cardinal Mooney 2028 OT
Snelling enters his junior season at 6-fot-5 and 270 pounds, and is quickly ascending on most national service rankings. The 4-star’s recruitment picked up significantly this spring, adding 15 offers this spring alone from the likes of Auburn, Florida State, Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, Penn State and Georgia Tech.
Jaxson Russell, Lakeland 2029 OT
Russell’s coming-out party started shorty after the end of his freshman year when Georgia offered, but he has ascended this spring to the top of programs boards. The 6-6, 310-pound rising sophomore now holds offers from Texas A&M, Tennessee, Auburn, Missouri and others.
Omari Lawson, Zeraphath Academy 2028 OT
Miami offensive line coach Alex Mirabal and Syracuse general manager Tommy Caparole have a long history of identifying talent earlier than most, and the ‘Canes and the Orange were Lawson’s only offers for the entirety of his sophomore year. He committed to Syracuse in October of last year. Since the start of the spring, Lawson has been rated as a 4-star by Rivals and earned offers from Florida, South Carolina, Penn State, North Carolina State, Virginia Tech and others.
Andrew Whittemore, Buchholz 2028 QB
The Whittemore name still rings loud at Buchholz. Andrew is the youngest of four brothers that all went on to play Division I football, and he is poised to carry on the family tradition. Whittemore has had a standout spring after tossing for 2,116 yards and 18 touchdowns with another 401 yards and eight scores on the ground. This spring, he has added Arkansas, UCF, Wake Forest, Iowa State and App State to an offer sheet that already included Utah, Purdue and Tulane.
Kahmaree Crumity, Lincoln 2028 DB
Crumity’s recruitment has boiled over this spring, and he now reports nearly 40 offers. After being offered by Notre Dame, Florida, Texas A&M, Miami and Missouri in a two-week span in late February, programs like Georgia, South Carolina, Ole Miss and Oklahoma have extended offers. The 6-0, 175-pound corner is now a 4-star on 247Sports Composite ranings.
Raphael Acker, Palm Beach Lakes 2028 DL
Raphael posted 44 tackles with a pair of sacks as a sophomore, and the now 6-4, 265-pound rising junior is receiving high-end interest. He received offers from Indiana, Auburn, USF, Colorado, West Virginia and Pitt in a two-week span this spring, and already earned offers from Georgia and Tennessee in the offseason.
