Nadine’s Fish Tips ‘n Wings has closed on Washington Avenue in Holland — but, according to ownership, the eatery’s story isn’t over.
In a social media post May 22, customers were informed the business’ lease had ended at 1111 Washington Ave.
“We are working on new ways to keep (the restaurant) alive in this economy and continue bringing good food, community and connection to the people who have supported us through the years,” the post read.
In response to an inquiry from The Sentinel, owner Larry Brothers said the business has options.
“We’re hoping to set up our mobile station, which is (a) tent we’ve used in recent years at various locations throughout the summer,” Brothers told The Sentinel. “We (don’t) have definitive options as of yet for a new storefront.”
Brothers added he hopes to secure a food truck/trailer to be more accessible to the community while “battling the current economy and rising costs associated with a physical building.”
Nadine’s opened to immediate community support in February 2022. The restaurant is named after the owner’s mother, and carries chicken wings, catfish, perch, tips, fries and a variety of street foods.
Brothers asked the public for patience, support and grace as he navigates this transition.
“Thank you for continuing to believe in Nadine’s,” he wrote on social media. “The love this community has shown us means everything, and we can’t wait to share what comes next.”
