MSU football listed as finalist for 3-star in-state ATH from Detroit

Michigan State football is one of three schools still in the mix for a highly-rated in-state prospect.

Don Spillers of Detroit has revealed his three finalists schools in his recruitment: Michigan State, Illinois and Louisville. Each of these three schools have official visits lined up with Spillers, starting with the Spartans this upcoming weekend. After Michigan State, he’ll head to Illinois the following weekend and then Louisville the weekend after that.

Spillers is listed as a three-star athlete with a recruiting rating of 87 in 247Sports. He is listed as the No. 62 athlete and No. 13 player from Michigan in the 2027 class, according to 247Sports.

Michigan State is in a good spot as the first team up in Spillers’ planned official visits. If the Spartans can impress this upcoming weekend, there’s a strong chance they’ll land the commitment and he’ll shutdown his recruitment. But we’ll need to see how things play out during this first very important recruiting weekend for the future of Michigan State football.
