It’s no secret that grocery prices have risen across the country since 2020.
Families continue to struggle with higher prices across the board, including groceries, gas and utilities. To help readers locate the most affordable groceries for their household, The Sentinel is introducing a weekly “Grocery Guide” that compares the current prices of staple items at local stores.
For this week’s offering, we’re looking at bread. These prices are from May 21, as posted online. Unless otherwise noted, prices are for one loaf of round-top white bread. The listed store brand loaves weigh 20 ounces, while the name brand weighs 22 ounces.
