Pataskala Kroger latest to open after remodel, offer fuel savings and gift cards

Kroger’s grand reopening of its Pataskala location is the latest in a string of the chain’s central Ohio remodels and just a fraction of its promised $112 million investment in the region.

After a $1.95 million renovation over the last four and half months, the 350 E. Broad St location is set to reopen May 22 at 10 a.m. To celebrate, customers can partake in food samples and some grand reopening specials after a ribbon cutting ceremony.

If you’re among the first 50 in line by 9 a.m., you can score a $10 gift card. And as gas prices stay high in Ohio, customers can also enter to win free gas for a month, if they enter by 9:30 a.m. and stick around for the drawing during the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The renovations to the 86,650-square-foot store includes updates to the dairy, floral, produce and meat and seafood departments. There is also new décor and a new Rx counsel room for “shoppers’ medical needs,” according to a press release.

“We’re inviting the entire Pataskala community to join us and experience their all-new and improved store,” Keith Norton, Pataskala Kroger store leader, said in a press release. “Shoppers will find various fresh updates, expanded selections and the same welcoming atmosphere their Kroger store is known for.”

Kroger continues gas savings offers as fuel prices stay high

Since gas prices started rising after the United States and Israel’s joint attack on Iran, Kroger and other grocery stores have offered various fuel discounts for customers.

For the grand reopening, customers who use their Kroger Plus card at the 350 E. Broad St location between May 22 and May 24 will save 20 cents per gallon.

Customers will also have the chance to earn four times the Kroger “fuel points on every dollar spent with a digital coupon May 20 to 23.

Grocery stores keep investing in the central Ohio region

The reopening is the latest example of grocery chains investing in central Ohio, and the third reopening of a Kroger location this spring.

In March, Kroger announced that it would invest $112 million into central Ohio, including the construction of two new stores in Canal Winchester and Delaware County, one of the fastest growing counties in the state.

On May 3, Kroger celebrated the grand reopening of its Gahanna location after $1.9 million in renovations. On May 8, the chain reopened its Reynoldsburg location.

Meijer has expressed interest in building in Obetz.
