The Mackinac Island Community Foundation (MICF) recently announced recipients of its 2026 spring grants as well as scholarships for Mackinac Island Public School graduates.
According to the community foundation’s announcement, spring grants totaled $134,482 to support a wide variety of projects and programs on Mackinac Island.
This grant cycle placed particular emphasis on mental health. MICF hosted a Human Services Convening earlier in the spring and had previously identified mental and physical health concerns as a priority for both islanders and island workers.

Seven graduates from Mackinac Island Public School received MICF scholarships, totaling $121,227, during the school’s Academic Awards Ceremony on Monday, May 18.
