After getting four commitments in four days, Michigan football appears to be on a day-long lull, adding to the 2027 class. Perhaps it goes a little longer than a day, but also perhaps, not by much.
The Wolverines continue to thrive on the recruiting trail, moving up to No. 12 in the Rivals team rankings after having been outside of the top 20. And names continue to come to the forefront who weren’t necessarily atop the leaderboard just a month ago.
The latest is 2027 Riverside (Calif.) Notre Dame four-star cornerback Darius Johnson. On Sunday, a bevy of predictions came in for Johnson to end up in a winged helmet, with four Rivals analysts all putting on paper — including national prognosticators Adam Gorney, Greg Biggins, and Brandon Huffman, and The Wolverine’s Ethan McDowell.
Johnson is rated highest by Rivals as the No. 210 player in the country. He’s also a four-star according to ESPN, but without a numerical designation. He’s listed as 6-foot-1, 160 pounds, and also has offers from Auburn, BYU, Indiana, Michigan State, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, UCLA, USC, Washington, and others.
He last visited Ann Arbor in late March. There’s no apparent timetable for when Johnson will make his decision.
