Austin Brown’s athletic profile
Scouting report on Austin Brown
“Brown is well-built and features good play strength. He’s an explosive athlete, but he’s missing the desired instincts in coverage, which might explain his lack of ball production. He has good top-end speed and range from the hash. He’s a physical striker and can be a full-stop tackler, but inconsistent angles to the ball turn into missteps that lead to explosive plays. His size, athletic profile and potential on special teams give him a chance to compete for a roster spot.” – Lance Zierlein, NFL.com
Can S Austin Brown make a roster push with the Colts?
Brown is a terrific athlete, providing the Colts with some additional upside to potentially tap into. He does, however, find himself at a bit of a crowded position. Cam Bynum, AJ Haulcy, Jonathan Owens, Juanyeh Thomas, and Hunter Wohler already account for five roster spots. Brown’s ability to help on special teams right away and across multiple phases will play a key role in him making a potential roster push.
