If Flagler beats the St. Leo-Young Harris winner, the Saints will likely play at No. 1-seeded Florida Southern next week. FSC plays the Tampa vs. Embry-Riddle winner in Lakeland.

If Florida Southern loses, the Saints will host the third-round game at a day and time to be determined.

Flagler is making its fourth appearance in the NCAA Tournament in the five years of its existence. The Saints won the Gulf South Conference regular season and tournament titles this year for the fourth year in a row.

Flagler beat St. Leo (14-4) 18-11 on the road on Feb. 7 and topped Young Harris (15-5) 19-4 on April 2, also a road game.

Flagler is led by Gulf South Attack of the Year Jessica Wright (60 goals, 37 assists), Gulf South Midfielder of the Year Ella Pinder (31 goals, 10 assists, 65 draw controls) and Gulf South Defensive Player of the Year Molly Sloan. Grant Kelam was named the GSC Coach of the Year for the fourth year in a row.

Both of Flagler’s potential opponents in the second round had their respective conference’s Offensive Players of the Year. Holly Hill of St. Leo (Sunshine State Conference) had 42 goals and 69 assists and Isabella Gebinine of Young Harris (Conference Carolinas) had 62 goals and 20 assists.

General admission tickets for the two tournament games at Flagler are $5 for each game, and must be paid in cash.

The national NCAA Division II semifinals and finals will be played May 21-23 at Judson Stadium in Rochester, New York.

Flagler men play in California

The Saints men’s lacrosse team, which won its first conference title last week, is the ninth seed in their NCAA II regional and will face No. 8 Concordia (Calif.) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The winner plays at No. 1 Tampa on May 10 at 1 p.m.

Flagler is led by Trace McDonald, who is 10th in the nation with 2.38 assists per game (38 overall), along with 27 goals. Ben Nyberg has 28 goals and 12 assists and Will Linko has 30 goals and eight assists.
