The victim declined medical treatment at the scene and transported himself to a local hospital for evaluation. His injuries were determined to be non-life threatening.

The preliminary investigation indicates the incident stemmed from a physical altercation between two individuals outside a residence. Officers conducted a canvas of the surrounding area as part of the ongoing investigation.

TThrough coordinated efforts, Kalamazoo Township authorities located the suspect and took him into custody on behalf of the Battle Creek Police Department. The suspect, a 31‑year‑old man also from Battle Creek, reported minor injuries consistent with the altercation.

Battle Creek officers responded to Kalamazoo to interview the suspect and complete the booking process at the Calhoun County Jail.

The Battle Creek Fire Department and LifeCare Ambulance assisted at the scene. No further information is available at this time
