Keagan Noble a big factor for state-ranked Okemos baseball

The Okemos baseball program entered its Florida spring break trip in 2024 looking for a new starter at second base.

Keagan Noble showed then as a sophomore he was the person for the job.

Noble went on to make another jump as a junior in 2025. He’s been even better this spring as a senior while playing a big role in the success for Division 1 No. 11-ranked Okemos.

Noble’s all-around play helped the Wolves jump out to an 8-0 mark in league play ahead of their CAAC Blue doubleheader against Grand Ledge on Thursday, April 30. The latest LSJ boys athlete of the week winner had a grand slam against East Lansing last week and added a home run against Holt while putting together big doubleheaders and helping Okemos to a pair of CAAC Blue sweeps.

“To watch his growth and development over the past three years has been pretty darn amazing,” Okemos coach Raul Presas said. “He has been a tremendous leader for us on and off the field. He’s a young man that his teammates rally around him.

“It has been amazing to watch him not only grow as a baseball player but as a young man. I’m so excited for what he’s doing this year because he deserves all the recognition and all the praise because he puts in the work. He puts a lot of time into developing his craft as a baseball player. He’s earned every piece of recognition coming his way.”

Noble has always strived to lead by example with the way he works on his game. He credits that work for helping increase his confidence at the plate to get strong results this spring for the Wolves.

“It is so refreshing because I’ve always struggled with confidence at the plate,” Noble said. “I’ve just been hitting more and more often and it’s just refreshing to see the work finally pay off and show for itself.”

Being around older players like current Chicago White Sox prospect Caleb Bonemer early in his varsity career also helped shape Noble and his approach to the game. And as he’s in the midst of his final season of high school baseball, the Northwood signee wants to leave an imprint on the program and help Okemos capture league and district titles again.

“(I’ve wanted) to build with the guys what we started throughout,” Noble said. “Since I was a freshman and sophomore, I’ve been playing with these guys. We knew we were good enough to leave something special here so we just want to try to accomplish that.”

As good as Noble has been, Presas said his senior infielder is still just scratching the surface of his baseball ability. Presas is excited to see that continued growth over the rest of the season and as he transitions to college.

“I think Northwood is getting a young man that is going to give everything that he has because that is who he has become,” Presas said. “He gives everything every day that we play. The impressive part about him is he practices as hard as he plays. He works hard, takes time to enjoy his teammates and laugh and enjoy the part of the game that you don’t get to see on game day or when we’re practicing.

“He’s a great teammate and Northwood is getting one heck of a baseball player.”
