A 40-year-old man was injured after being attacked by a man with an axe Saturday, April 25, according to the Battle Creek Police Department.
Officers responded to a report stabbing shortly after 5 p.m. on N. Wabash Avenue north of Capital Avenue NE.
Upon arrival, officers learned the victim had been struck with an axe during an altercation with a known individual. He sustained injuries to his chest and elbow and was transported to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital for medical treatment.
The suspect, a 44-year-old man, fled the scene in a vehicle, police said. Officers located the vehicle a short distance away, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Battle Creek Police Department for questioning.This incident remains under investigation by the Battle Creek Police Department Detective Bureau.
