Ramaswamy team clinging to straight-up lies – they're scared | Letters

Lies aren’t a campaign strategy

Well, it looks like Vivek Ramaswamy’s running mate is following the JD Vance playbook of creating “stories” so that the American media will pay attention.”

Despite Gov. Mike DeWine debunking the ad, Rob McColley, Ohio’s current Senate president, continues to “create stories.” Which is another way of saying that he’s lying.

Why hasn’t Ramaswamy spoken up about his running mate supporting a lie? Why hasn’t he requested the ad be removed? I think it’s because Ramaswamy doesn’t care if the ad is a lie, or that his running mate is also lying.

Apparently, lying is more acceptable than liberalism.

Dr. Amy Acton and Ramaswamy are currently nearly tied in polling.

Hopefully, more people will see how blatantly the GOP candidates lie and will stop supporting them. They don’t have to lie; DeWine told the truth. Maybe the GOP candidates should follow his playbook instead of VP Vance.

No Acton, yes to education

Ohio is facing an education crisis. The early pandemic school closures in Ohio have had an immense negative impact on education at every level. I plan to choose Vivek Ramaswamy in November because he promises to fix this education crisis.

The education crisis is a direct result of Dr. Amy Acton’s decision-making during the COVID pandemic.

Under Dr. Amy Acton’s leadership as health director, Ohio became the first state in the nation to shut down its public school system, causing students to lose precious learning years. Through poor planning and worse execution, Acton severely wounded the educational development of Ohio’s youth.

Even worse than this, Acton quit on Ohio when things got tough. She abandoned the state in the fallout of her actions. This is why I will be saying “NO” to Acton.

Ramaswamy, on the other hand, has committed to raising schools’ standards and cutting the bureaucracy so our children receive a better education and a better future. He will also encourage parents to take a closer role in their child’s education. Ramaswamy is saying “YES” to what is best for families.

I say “YES” to Ramaswamy because I believe it is up to the individual to monitor how their children learn and what their path to success is. Acton used the government to decide what was best for the people of Ohio, and in turn ruined the education of countless Ohioans.

Preserve Columbus’ financial reputation

The reputation of a city’s financial managers, especially its city auditor, helps determine how well the city’s municipal bonds are rated.

For a long time, Columbus has enjoyed very high credit ratings, therefore the city pays a lower rate of interest when we issue bonds to pay for major capital improvements like sewers and bridges. High bond ratings can save millions of dollars in taxpayer funds.

I hope that city council replaces outgoing Auditor Megan Kilgore with a seasoned and credentialed professional like she is and her esteemed predecessor, Hugh Dorrian, was, to preserve Columbus’ rare and valuable high respect in the bond market.
