Man carjacked after giving woman ride to bus station in Victorville

Investigators are seeking a woman who carjacked a man after he agreed to give her a ride to a bus station in Victorville on Tuesday night, law enforcement officials said.

The crime took place about 9:20 p.m. April 21 at the Victor Valley Transportation Center, 16838 D Street, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

The victim, who did not know the suspect, agreed to take her to the bus station in his gray 2014 Dodge Ram pickup truck, sheriff’s department spokeswoman Jenny Smith said.

Upon arriving, the man got out of the truck to help the woman with her luggage, which was stowed in the bed, she said.

“While doing so, the suspect remained in the truck and locked the doors and refused to let the victim back in the truck,” Smith said.

The woman drove off as the man held onto the truck’s rack, knocking him to the ground. The victim declined medical treatment.

The carjacker was initially described as a woman with black hair and black clothing.

No further details were released. The investigation was ongoing.
