Chick-fil-A has confirmed construction is expected to begin this summer in Hartland Township, with an anticipated opening in early 2027.
The new restaurant is transforming 10587 Highland Road, which held Livingston County’s last Big Boy until 2023.
Chick-fil-A will demolish the existing building and create a more than 5,000-square-foot restaurant with drive-thru service in approximately the same spot.
The project was originally proposed for the former Burger King along M-59, but developers decided to swap addresses — to the relief of residents and officials — in August. The final site plan was approved in February.
A spokesperson shared the construction and opening details in April, assuming no delays. The message said each locally owned and operated Chick-fil-A typically creates 80-120 jobs.
