In partnership with the Rochester City Council and other community stakeholders, the city of Rochester will host several public meetings to allow residents to share their ideas and give feedback on the potential use of automated traffic systems including automated speed reduction, other traffic safety tactics.

Residents will also have the opportunity to learn more about how the tools will be implemented in the community. Feedback gathered will guide future policy decisions and enforcement strategies.

“Traffic crashes are preventable, and we all have a role to play in making our streets safer,” said Mayor Malik Evans in a statement. “As we explore tools like automated traffic enforcement, it is critical that we hear directly from residents to ensure any approach is fair, effective, and reflects the needs of our community.”

Here is when residents can attend future public meetings:

Residents who are unable to attend in person can contact ROC Vision Zero via email at ROCVisionZero@CityofRochester.Gov or by phone at (585) 428-6855.

The city will launch an online survey after the public sessions. The survey will be informed by information gathered during the sessions. Visit cityofrochester.gov/departments/bureau-equipment-services/roc-vision-zero to learn more about the effort.
