FSU defensive line target commits to SEC program

The Florida State Seminoles are still looking for their first commitment along the defensive line in the 2027 recruiting cycle, something that just got even tougher with one target now headed to an SEC program.

Avrian Pauley, a three-star defensive lineman from Mobile, Alabama, committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday over FSU. Pauley visited FSU in April for a spring practice and scheduled an official visit with the Seminoles for June, but that trip seems unlikely to happen now that he has committed to Alabama. He was a newer target for the Seminoles, who extended him a scholarship offer on Jan. 23.

Pauley is ranked as the No. 539 overall player and No. 64 defensive lineman in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 21 player from Alabama.

FSU defensive line coach Terrance Knighton signed a large defensive line class last year as the Seminoles worked to replenish their depth, but this year has been off to a slower start. They are in a good spot with several blue-chip targets, including Sanatana Harvey, Karlos May, and Sam LeJeune, now they just need to close.
