Sheetz is preparing to branch out into the Hoosier state in the new year and, in the meantime, plans to continue building its Michigan base from metro Detroit.
The convenience store, restaurant and gas station chain will open its first Indiana locations next year, with 100 planned over the next 10 years, Sheetz said in an April 8 news release. In Michigan, the chain is set to expand to nearly 20 stores by the end of 2026.
Sheetz currently has six stores in southeast Michigan, with a seventh location set to open soon in Warren and an eighth in East Lansing, according to its website and the Lansing State Journal. It has proposed a ninth store near Lansing as well.
“Over the past several years, we have received a significant number of inquiries from Indiana residents who want to see Sheetz in their communities,” Sheetz president and CEO Travis Sheetz said in the release. “This momentum has been reinforced by the enthusiastic response to our unique offerings in new Midwest markets. It is an exciting time for Sheetz, and we look forward to giving customers everything they need in one stop, creating quality jobs and being a positive force in the Indiana communities we serve.”

Sheetz will open its first Indiana locations in the greater Indianapolis area in 2027, and plans to open 100 stores in the state over the next decade, the release said. The move will generate over 3,000 long-term jobs, with locations and opening dates to be announced, Sheetz said.
