Police have identified a pedestrian who was killed after being struck by a tractor-trailer early Tuesday, April 7, on Interstate 27 in Lubbock.
Officers and first responders were initially called about 3:15 a.m. to the 5000 block of I-27 for a report of a collision with injuries involving a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, officers located William Goodwin, 67. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe Goodwin was standing in the roadway when he was struck by a tractor-trailer as it was traveling in the northbound lanes.
By Tuesday, police said there is no indication the driver was at fault, but the crash remains under investigation.
