Wisconsin men’s basketball is losing one of its promising freshmen from the 2025-26 season.
Badgers 6-foot-10 forward Aleksas Bieliauskas will enter the transfer portal, his agent told Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress.
Bieliauskas earned a starting role early in his freshman season and averaged 4.9 points and 4.4 rebounds in 20.2 minutes per game. He was second on the team with 21 blocked shots.
He is the fourth UW player to announce plans to enter the transfer portal. Fellow starter John Blackwell announced his plans on April 6, and reserve players Jack Robison and Riccardo Greppi announced their intentions to leave in March. UW now has six roster spots open.
Forwards who could return for the Badgers include Nolan Winter, Austin Rapp and Will Garlock. The portal opened April 7 and will remain open through April 21. Transfers need to enter the portal during that 15-day window, but they do not need to commit during that time.
Bieliauskas, a native of Lithuania, departs with three years of eligibility remaining.
