Former Spartans ace assigned to High-A affiliate for Baltimore Orioles

Michigan State baseball saw their ace get drafted during the 2025 MLB Draft, with Joseph Dzierwa getting picked in the second round by the Baltimore Orioles. Since then, Dzierwa has been developing in the Orioles organization, and in 2026, he will make his professional debut.

After having a stellar spring training, Dzierwa will be bypassing Single-A ball and head straight to High-A to play for the Frederick Keys. Dzierwa currently ranks as the Orioles No. 14 prospect, and is someone they obviously feel very highly about.
