HOUSTON— Iowa basketball lost to Illinois, 71-59, on Saturday night in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.
The Hawkeyes finished the season 24-13. They were outrebounded 38-21 and were outscored in the paint, 40-12.
Bennett Stirtz led the way for Iowa with 24 points in his final game as a Hawkeye.
