State Class AAA quarterfinal – Monroe-Woodbury (9) 8, Mamaroneck (1) 5: At Saugerties. Down 4-1, Monroe scratched out two runs in the third, four in the fourth and one in the sixth to pull out the victory. Braeden Burke got the complete-game win, allowing seven hits (none from fourth through sixth) and striking out 12, six in a row in the fifth and sixth. Joey Bauer had an RBI single in the second and two-run single in the third. Liam Hayes had an RBI single in the fourth. For Mamaroneck, Noah Bauer took the loss with five runs and six hits charged in 3.1 innings. Will Plunkett had a RBI double and Dylan Senior a bloop two-RBI single in the first. Monroe will face Massapequa in Friday’s state semifinal at 7 p.m. at Union Endicott High School.

State Class AA quarterfinal – Cornwall (9) 9, Rye (1) 0: At Saugerties. Cornwall will face Kennedy in Friday’s 7 p.m. state semifinal at Binghamton’s Mirabito Stadium. (story)

State Class A quarterfinal – Marlboro (9) 4, Byram Hills (1) 3: At Saugerties. Cole Belcastro laid down a successful suicide squeeze bunt in the seventh inning for the win. Liam Correa threw a four-hitter, fanning seven, adding a two-run triple and single. Meyer Baker had a triple and single, Jax Fernandez an RBI single. For Byram Hills, Spencer Feldman, Zach Cohen and Logan Verma (RBI) had doubles. Marlboro will face Plainedge in Friday’s 7 p.m. state semifinal at Binghamton University.

State Class B quarterfinal – Chester (9) 2, Putnam Valley (1) 0: At Saugerties. Chester will play Center Moriches in Friday’s 1 p.m. state semifinal at Binghamton University. (story)

State Class C quarterfinal – Saratoga Catholic (2) 7, Chapel Field (9) 0: At Saugerties. Three Saratoga pitchers combined on a no-hit victory: Luke Dejnozka (closer with five strikeouts), Carson Moser (eight strikeouts) and Pierce Byrne (credited with the win). Spa pushed across four runs in the second inning, with a Kihl Kelly RBI single, Joey Lindner two-run single and Jason Pescetti sacrifice fly. Chapel Field did draw five walks: Easton Vellenga (2), Logan Garvey, Jonah Falkena and Bonagura. Vellenga took the loss, fanning three. Garvey fanned nine in four innings of relief.

State Class D quarterfinal – Bridgehampton/Ross (11) 11, Eldred (9) 1, 5 inn.: At Saugerties. Bridgehampton had five hits and scored seven runs in the fourth inning to pull away to a huge lead. Tate Foard had an RBI groundout in the first inning. Eli McCleland and Tyler Fitzgerald also had RBI groundouts in the third. In the decisive fourth, Fitzgerald had a two-run single, Finn Alversa an RBI double, Elliott McGonegal an RBI groundout, Chase Chmielewski a two-run single and Kai Alversa an RBI single. Alversa got the win, allowing one hit and striking out 10 over five innings. For Eldred, losing pitcher Evan Zgrodek (five strikeouts) had a single.

Section 9 Class AAA final – No. 1 Monroe-Woodbury 9, No. 2 Kingston 3: At Saugerties. Game not reported. Joshua Konior had a double, two singles and three RBI and Liam Hayes had a single and two RBI for Monroe. Braeden Burke won a five-hitter, fanning 11.

Logan Garvey homered twice (3-run blast in third, 2-run shot in ninth) for Chapel Field; Connor Quirk added a bases-loaded wall, Jonah Falkena knocked in a run with a groundout and Jack Kuperus had a sacrifice fly. Easton Vellenga hustled home on a Micah McDuffie slow-rolling single in the seventh to tie the contest. For Pine Plains, Warren Lounsbury took the loss.

Section 9 Class AAA semifinal – at No. 2 Kingston 8, No. 3 Pine Bush 0: Kingston seized a 5-0 lead in the third inning. Kaden Deibert had a single, double and three RBI, Landon Vangassbeck had two RBI, Gavin Culjak two singles, Max Freese a double and RBI and Keegan Hughes a single and RBI. Matt Martin got the win. For Pine Bush, Zachary Graziano had three hits. The Tigers will face Cornwall in Saturday’s finals in Saugerties.

Section 9 Class AA semifinal – at No. 1 Cornwall 9, No. 5 Valley Central 0: The Dragons (21-0) will face Kingston in Saturday’s finals in Saugerties.

Section 9 Class AA semifinal – No. 3 Goshen 11, at No. 2 Minisink Valley 8: Goshen scored six times in fifth to seize a 10-7 lead. Anthony Crispino had a single and two RBI and solo RBIs came from Avery Farrell, Nolan Ensall (double), Nick Smykla (double), Brady Scheuer and Liam Whitenight (two singles) for the Gladiators. Stephen Kovacs got the win, fanning eight. For Minisink, losing pitcher Chris McCauley and Gavin Brown each fanned five. McCauley had five RBI on three doubles a homer. Brendan McEvoy had an RBI. Goshen faces Valley Central or Cornwall in Saturday’s finals in Saugerties.

Section 9 Class A semifinal – No. 7 Marlboro 6, at No. 3 New Paltz 5: Patrick Tarsio threw six innings of three-hit ball, fanning six, for the win. Meyer Baker had two doubles and two RBI, Mike Droney two singles and an RBI, Jason Sarinsky a double and two RBI and Brayden Soma a single and RBI for Marlboro (9-11). For New Paltz (13-8), Alex Papaelias had a homer and two singles and Nick Drewnowski two singles and an RBI. Marlboro faces Beacon in Saturday’s final in Saugerties.

Section 9 Class A semifinal – at No. 1 Beacon 4, No. 5 Lourdes 2: James Bouchard had three hits and Kayden Durkin and Elijah Epps each had a hit and two RBI for Beacon. Alex young got the win, Zach Schetter the save. For Lourdes Bryce Reilly had two hits and an RBI. The Bulldogs face Marlboro in Saturday’s final in Saugerties.

Section 9 Class B semifinal – No. 3 Spackenkill 4, at No. 2 Burke Catholic 2: The Spartans will face Chester in Saturday’s finals in Saugerties.

Section 9 Class C semifinal – at No. 1 Pine Plains 12, No. 4 Millbrook 1 5 inn.: Pine Plains posted five runs in second, six in third. Will Lounsbury had a double, two singles and three RBI, Griffin Atkinson two singles and three RBI, Matthew Spada a single, double and two RBI and Kyle Fredericks a single and two RBI for the Bombers. For Millbrook, Johnny Jacob doubled and singles came from Gionna Amodeo, Will Quirk and Brody Augusta. The Bombers will face Chapel Field in Saturday’s finals in Saugerties.

Section 9 Class C semifinal – at No. 2 Chapel Field 8, No. 3 S.S. Seward 0: Logan Garvey and Ryan Hoffman (4 RBI) each had three hits and winning pitcher Anthony Bonagura a hit and RBI for Chapel Field (17-1). For Seward, Cole Chiavaro had a hit and Nick DeRosa took a loss. The Lions will take on Pine Plains in Saturday’s finals in Saugerties.

Section 9 Class AA quarterfinal – No. 5 Valley Central 2, at No. 4 F.D. Roosevelt 1: Darren Russo fanned 12 in a no-hit victory, walking five. Jake Cancredi drew a bases-loaded walk in the first inning, and Nicholas Strobach’s RBI single in the third staked VC to the win. The Vikings will play at No. 1 Cornwall in a Thursday semifinal. For FDR, Daniel Miller took the loss and Brenden Cohen tossed 4.1 innings of scoreless relief. Brennen Paul scored a first-inning run on an error.

Section 9 Class A quarterfinal – at No. 1 Beacon 13, No. 8 Port Jervis 1: James Bouchard fanned nine over four innings for the win, adding two hits and three RBI. Alex Young (RBI) had three hits and two came from Elijah Epps (homer, 4 RBI) and Ryan Landisi (RBI). The Bulldogs will host Thursday semifinal against Lourdes. For Port, Rudy Shouten homered and Kayden Watch had a single.

Section 9 Class A quarterfinal – No. 5 Our Lady of Lourdes 1, No. 4 Saugerties 0, 14 inn.: Jack Quirk drove in the lone run with a triple. Roy Underwood threw eight shutout innings, fanning 11, and Peter Karas had six shutout frames, fanning nine.For Saugerties, Ty VanValkenburgh struck out 19 and allowed two hits over 7.2 innings. McCoy Rothe fanned nine over 6.1 innings of relief, taking the loss.

Section 9 Class A quarterfinal – No. 7 Marlboro 5, at No. 2 Highland 1: Liam Correa won a four-hitter, fanning 10, adding a single and solo homer. Meyer Baker had three hits, with two hits coming from Cole Belcastro (2 RBI), Frank Verdi (RBI), Mike Droney and Brayden Soma. Marlboro plays at New Paltz in a Thursday semifinal.

Section 9 Class A quarterfinal – at No. 3 New Paltz 3, No. 6 Red Hook 1: Nash Byrne won a one-hitter, fanning five. Malcolm Dillehay and Alex Papaelias drove in runs for the Huguenots. For Red Hook, Dylan MacDonald fanned nine over six innings. Luca Friedman had the lone hit. Marlboro plays at New Paltz in a Thursday semifinal.

Section 9 Class C quarterfinal – at No. 4 Millbrook 10, No. 5 Rhinebeck 0, 5 inn.: Ben Conklin (triple, 2 RBI) and Kipton Knittel (2 RBI) each had two hits for Millbrook, which had 13 hits. Johnny Jacob got the win, fanning six. The Blazers will play a semifinal at No. 1 Pine Plains (date TBD). For Rhinebeck, John Haight doubled and Oscar Clark took the loss, fanning two.

at Chapel Field 11, Sullivan West 1, 5 inn.: Anthony Bonagura (7-0) got the win for Chapel Field (16-1). For Sullivan West (6-10), Liam Bernas took the loss, Alec Hubert had two hits and Dylan Scardefield had one.

Pine Bush 14, at Marlboro 8: Alec Croce homered and had four RBI and two hits came from Finn Gandolfini, Robert Lawrence (2 RBI), Lucas Judson (double, 3 RBI) and Michael Joerger (RBI) for Pine Bush. V game, Jack Kuperus had two hits and six RBI, Logan Garvey hit his seventh home run, Connor Quirk had three hits and three RBI and Ryan Hoffman had two hits and four RBI for Chapel Field (15-0). Anthon Bonagura (6-0) got the win. For Seward, Cole Chiavaro took the loss.

at Beacon 12, New Paltz 5: For New Paltz, Nick Drewnowski had a double and two singles and two hits came from Alex Papaelias (2 RBI) and Andres Gutierrez (RBI).

MHAL American final – Saugerties 5, New Paltz 0: Saugerties – as visiting team at Cantine – scored twice in first, third innings. Ty VanValkenburg and Cam Burch (RBI) both doubled, and Michael Gramoglia and Reid Myers had RBIs for the Sawyers. McCoy Rothe won a two-hitter, fanning 10. For New Paltz, Nash Byrne (double) lost a four-hitter, fanning seven.

MHAL National final – Highland 11, Pine Plains 9: At Saugerties. The Huskies scored five times in second, fifth inniings, fend off Bombers. For Pine Plains, Michael Klay, losing pitcher Warren Lounsbury (RBI), Ryan Blass (2 RBI) and Austin Mielich (2 RBI) had two singles.

MHAL final – at Saugerties 12, Highland 2, 5 inn.: Saugerties put up seven runs in the bottom of the first, on way to the MHAL championship. Graham Werwa won a five-hitter, fanning three. Michael Gramoglia had two doubles, single and RBI and two RBI came from Ty VanValkenburg (triple), Jesse Incalcaterra (two singles), Mike Tiano (single) and Cam Burch (two singles). For Highland, Nick Forzano and Ben Cappillino (single) both doubled and L Ellison had a single and RBI.

Nick Sharp, Ian Arnett and Christian Calloway had RBIs. For Burke (1-3, 0-1), Brendyn Quinn (RBI, single) and Vincent Greany each doubled, with Danny Benzinger and losing pitcher Aaron Drucker posting RBIs.

Our Lady of Lourdes 12, at Spackenkill 0: Carlo Porco had a single, double and two RBI, with Roy Underwood (RBI) and Sean Hinspeter (2 RBI) each adding two hits for Lourdes.

Chapel Field 5, at Marlboro 4: Winning pitcher Easton Vellenga tossed six innings of four-hit ball, fanning six. Connor Quirk (2 RBI) had a hit, with Jack Kuperus and Anthony Bonagura posting RBIs for Chapel Field. For Marlboro (0-2), Brayden Soma and Mike Droney each had two hits and Meyer Baker an RBI.

Red Hook 7, Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk 4: At Red Creek. Red Hook scored three times in fifth inning, snapping a 3-3 tie. Phil Briehof had two doubles, a single and three RBI, with Jackson Milroy and Gehrig Moore adding RBIs for Red Hook. Dylan MacDonald fanned five, Caden Heeney four. For RCS, Gavin Lochner and Devin Cameron doubled.

Minisink Valley 6, at Pine Bush 4: Liam Barry pitched four scoreless innings (3 strikeouts) for the win. Ben Sinsabaugh homered, Gavin Brown had a single, double and RBI and Will Berretto had three hits and an RBI for Minisink. For Pine Bush, Zach Graziano (double) and Robert Lawrence (RBI) each had two hits and Cody Hanson took the loss.

Eldred 5, S.S. Seward 2: At Rock Sports Park. Evan Zgrodrek tossed six innings of four-hit ball, fanning 10, and Jacob Tice had a hit and two RBI for Eldred. For Seward, Cole Chiavaro had 4.1 innings of no-hit ball, fanning seven, and Blake Coontz and Nick DeRosa each had a hit and RBI.

at F.D. Roosevelt 3, Highland 2: Danny Miller doubled and Brenden Cohen (5 strikeouts in relief) and Sam O’Shea each had RBIs for FDR.

at Kingston 8, Warwick 5: Kingston (1-0) rallied from a 4-0 deficit. Matt Martin threw six innings of two-hit ball, fanning six, and Declan McDermott (two RBIs) got the save. Wade Holsapple had three hits and three RBI; Max Freese two hits and Keegan Hughes had an RBI.

Beacon 15, at Middletown 4: Winning pitcher James Bouchard fanned 10 over four innings for Beacon. Zach Schetter (3 RBI) and Alex Young (2 RBI) each had two hits and Tye Elias had a hit and three RBI for the Bulldogs.

at Goshen 6, Wallkill 4: Goshen led 6-0 after five. Avery Farrell had a triple, two singles and four RBI and Nolan Ensall had an RBI for Goshen. Stephen Kovacs fanned 13 in a two-hit effort over 5.1 innings. For Wallkill, the Panthers had six singles, and a double from J.J. Detz. Brayden Nicoli, Connor Bleichner, Declan Gardner and Ben Dortort had RBIs.

at James I. O’Neill 7, Tri-Valley 4: For Tri-Valley, Bryan Rogerson had two hits and two RBI and David Hermann a hit and RBI.

Pine Plains 8, at Saugerties 4: Pine Plains won despite stranding 11 runners (after 10 on Friday and 7 on Saturday). Austin Mielich had two doubles, a single and RBI; winning pitcher Warren Lounsbury fanned six, adding a double, two singles and RBI; and Griffin Atkinson had two hits and four RBI for the Bombers (1-0). For Saugerties (1-2), Graham Wewra had three singles and Ethan Kurplach had a hit and two RBI. Danny Sullivan took the loss.

Columbia 15, at Red Hook 1: Red Hook was held to singles by Joseph Virga and Jackson Huber. Camden Misasi took the loss. For Columbia, Danny Guariglia had four RBI and Dylan Driscoll, Ascher Melino and Jackson Stison each had two.

Cortland Lumber Yard Classic- New Paltz 6, Salem-Cambridge 1: At Cortland. Huguenots scored three in sixth and seventh innings. Jason Scotto threw five innings of two-hit ball, fanning six. Giancarlo Reilly had a single, homer and two RBI. Nick Drewnowski doubled and tallied twice. Malcom Dillehay had two singles and RBI.

Cortland Lumber Yard Classic – Christian Brothers Academy (Syracuse) 3-7, Newburgh 2-0: In game one, Jake Cross had two hits and Victor Alicea one for Newburgh. Joseph Santo fanned four over six innings. In game two, Liam Keller had two hits for NFA.

at Bethlehem 6, Saugerties 5: Ty VanValkenburg and Jesse Incalcaterra each had a single and RBI and Michael Gramoglia had a double and RBI for Saugerties (1-1). Graham Wewra took the loss. Down 5-3 in fourth, Bethlehem rallied with run in fourth, two in fifth. Dan Leach had two doubles and three RBI.

For New Paltz (0-1), Alex Papaelias had three hits and Nick Drewnowski (2 RBI) and Malcom Dillehay (RBI) each had two.
