After an eventful Big Ten Championship showing last week, No. 7 Iowa wrestling (12-6, 5-3 Big Ten) will compete in the NCAA Championships from March 19-21 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, as the Hawkeyes look to add to their trophy case with potentially numerous national titles.
The Hawkeyes have earned a team trophy at the NCAA Championships 15 times in the last 17 championships. Additionally, Iowa has won 49 team NCAA trophies in program history, 70 top 10 finishes, and has been the NCAA runner-up seven times.
While the competition within the Big Ten has certainly sharpened the integrity of the Hawkeyes squad, this weekend is a perfect opportunity for Iowa to showcase its skill set on the mat against some of the nation’s top wrestlers.
