Stetson’s women’s basketball season will continue after all.
On March 15, the Hatters earned an invite to the 48-team Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) after finishing 20-11 overall and 12-6 in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Their first contest will occur against Florida International (20-11) on March 20 in Miami.
The event will also serve as a send-off for longtime head coach Lynn Bria. The program announced she will step down after 18 years in charge following the conclusion of Stetson’s run.
The Hatters’ hopes of making the NCAA Tournament ended when they lost to Austin Peay in the ASUN tournament. Nonetheless, they will be playing postseason basketball with their first WNIT appearance since 2024.
Stetson was one of three ASUN teams to make it along with Austin Peay and Florida Gulf Coast. It will be led by unanimous ASUN first teamer Mary McMillan and second teamer Cameron Thomas.
