Two dead after driver fleeing Clinton Township police hits another car

Two people died early Saturday after a driver trying to elude Clinton Township police crashed into their vehicle, police said.

Around 2:30 a.m., police tried to stop a vehicle speeding on southbound Gratiot Avenue near Quinn Road, according to a press release Saturday from the Clinton Township Police Department.

But the vehicle sped up as officers activated the emergency lights and siren on the squad car, police said. The driver collided with a car at southbound Gratiot Avenue and 14 Mile, killing a 25-year-old man from Southfield and another occupant, who has yet to be identified.

The Roseville Police Department is investigating the traffic crash.
