Pensacola St Patrick's Day events offer pub crawls and parties

Get out your green, Pensacola is starting its St. Patrick’s Day parties early.

Even though the holiday falls on a Tuesday this year, many bars and restaurants are starting their celebrations this weekend. Whether you’re looking for a full-out beach bar crawl or want to sit back and hear an Irish pipe band play, here’s a breakdown of some of the biggest St. Patrick’s Day events that the area has to offer.

Grog March − O’Riley’s Irish Pub

Description: Crawl for a good cause with O’Riley’s annual Grog March open to those 21 years and older. By bringing $10 and a non-perishable food item to the door, you will be helping donate to Manna Food Pantries to feed the hungry in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Your entry fee and food donation will get you a refillable stein, access to pub crawl drink specials, a lanyard, and an exclusive Grog March T-shirt while supplies last. Prizes will also be available at the end of the crawl. Registration begins at 4 p.m. at O’Riley’s Irish Pub and the crawl will begin at about 6:45 p.m. Crawl stops include Blend, Intermission and Seville. Participants will meet back at O’Riley’s at 10 p.m. for raffle prizes. Wear your green!

Calvert’s in the Heights

Description: Calvert’s in the Heights will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day all weekend long with specials such as $5 Patty’s Irish Whiskey and $4 green draft beer.

“Good friends, good cheer, and a little Irish spirit in every toast,” Calvert’s shared in a social media post. “Sláinte!”

Gary’s Brewery & Biergarten −St. Paddy’s Pre-Funk Party

Description: Gary’s will be hosting a St. Patrick’s party out in the biergarten with special Irish-style beers on tap, their Red Bastard Irish Red Ale, Paddy O’Gary’s Irish Stout, and green beer on special. Freeman’s Eatery food truck will be serving “delicious comfort food along with their St. Paddy’s special.” Live music will run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. from Spicy Danger.

Green Eggs & Kegs Brunch

Description: “Start the celebration early with great food, cold kegs, and plenty of Irish cheer before the biggest party of the year begins,” O’Riley’s shared in a social media statement. “Grab your crew, wear your best green, and let’s get the day started the O’Riley’s way.⁠”

O’Riley’s Uptown Tavern

Description: O’Riley’s Uptown Tavern will be going allout for St. Patrick’s Day this year with music, a DJ, a food truck and a late-night glow foam party.

“This is not your average St. Paddy’s celebration,” O’Riley’s wrote in a statement.

Pints, Plates and Plenty of Green − O’Riley’s Irish Pub

Description: O’Riley’s Irish Pub is encouraging guests to come out in their green on St. Patrick’s Day itself, starting at 10 a.m. with drink specials, green beer on draft, and corned beef and cabbage, which is served on the 17th of each month. Don’t forget to bring back your Grog March mug for a special exclusive to mug holders.

Paddy O’Leary’s Irish Pub

Description: Pensacola Beach’s traditional Irish pub has plenty of festivities planned for St. Patrick’s Day, starting with mass at 9 a.m., followed by indoor and outdoor entertainment all day and night, including Ragamuffin coming in all the way from Ireland to perform from 1-3:30 p.m. Don’t miss the prep-party on Sunday, March 15, featuring live music from 2-8 p.m. Food will also be provided from Paddy Wagon Irish Food Truck. On Tuesday after mass, a $5 cover will be charged for the festivities. While there, don’t forget to try a pint of Guinness.

39th Annual St. Paddy’s Day Pub Crawl

Description: This year’s Pensacola Beach pub crawl will mark the 38th year for the annual event benefitting the Pensacola Beach Chamber of Commerce. The crawl features 15 participating beach bars, restaurants and hotels. “Sláinte to live music, beachside mischief, and a full day of Irish fun on the island!” the Pensacola Beach Chamber of Commerce website states.

This year’s route features Crabs on the Beach (offering Irish breakfast), Casino Beach Bar & Grill, The Salty Rose, Shaggy’s, Bamboo Willie’s, Senor Frog’s, Flounder’s, Red Fish Blue Fish, Sneaky Tiki, The Islander Lounge & Package, Paddy O’Leary’s, Fish Heads, Riptides Sports Grill, Sal De Mar and The Sandshaker. New to the crawl is The Landing, which will be offering lunch.

Lunch tickets, $20, include a Reuben sandwich, chips, an Irish margarita, and green beer. Tickets can be purchased in advance at pensacolabeachchamber.com. Proceeds from the crawl benefit Covenant Care. Pub crawl T-shirts are available for $25 at all locations. To register for the crawl, download the “PensacolaBeach.com Metaverse” app by GeoWhiz, open the Pub Crawl Quest and fill out the registration information.

Bamboo Willies St. Patrick’s Day Celebration

Description: Bamboo Willie’s is hosting its annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration with its famed All-Green Bikini Contest at 5 p.m. (participants arrive at 4 p.m.), followed by live music. There will be prizes awarded for first, second and third place winners.
