Recapping Day 3 of NFL free agency for the Jacksonville Jaguars

Following Day 3 of NFL free agency, let’s take a look back at everything that happened with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Overall, it’s been a quiet start to free agency for the Jaguars, but Jacksonville did make their first outside free agent signing on Wednesday.

Here is everything you need to know about that move and everything else that took place.

Montaric Brown’s salary cap hits

The contract details for Montaric Brown’s deal have been fully reported, and Over the Cap has the salary cap impact of this move. For the 2026 season, Brown will have a cap hit of just $3.92 million. For more details and to see what his cap hits are in future years, you can find that here.

Jaguars sign RB Chris Rodriguez

Rodriguez signed a two-year, $10 million deal to join the Jaguars. Last season in Washington, he took on a much larger role, carrying the ball 112 times and averaging 4.5 yards per attempt. Rodriguez will provide added experience at the position and could shoulder the workload with Bhayshul Tuten in the run game, while LeQuint Allen continues to see the field during pass situations.

Andrew Wingard signs with the Cardinals

This is reportedly a one-year, $3 million deal for Wingard. Still under contract at safety for the Jaguars are Eric Murray, Antonio Johnson, Rayuan Lane, and Caleb Ransaw.

Jaguars’ wide receiver becomes a free agent

According to Demetrius Harvey for the Florida Times-Union, the Jaguars are non-tendering Cephus, who was an exclusive rights free agent. This, in turn, makes Cephus an unrestricted free agent and able to sign where he pleases.
