Say hello to St. Augustine’s brand-new pickle lover’s paradise.
The Pickle Factory at 239 San Marco Ave. combines playful nostalgia with modern culinary creativity.
The Pickle Factory offers more than 40 fermented foods from pickles, olives, sauerkraut, kimchi and veggies providing probiotic-rich ferments, along with treats (candied jalapenos), gifts and specialty foods. There’s even a pickle on a stick.
St. Augustine’s Shai and Charlotte Tzabari began their legacy 15 years ago at the St. Augustine Amphitheater’s Farmers Market under the umbrella entitled “Olive My Pickle.” The couple’s loyal following encouraged them to open a brick-and-mortar store.
According to The Pickle Factory’s website, the spacious indoor market is rooted in six generations of traditional recipes, built to be equal parts corner variety store, better-for-you snack shack and family-friendly neighborhood hang out.
“We are incredibly excited to open our doors in St. Augustine and welcome longtime fans and new guests to experience the next chapter at The Pickle Factory,” Charlotte Tzabari said in a news release. “We’ve designed this space to be more than just a store. It’s a place for people to gather, discover something new and share a little joy around food and fun.”
One can skip through the lanes, relax and watch the crowds, or catch up on some reading in the building’s pink café. The Pickle Factory even has an outdoor park to relax or play cornhole as you munch on the crunch.
Shelves in The Pickle Factory overflow with gut-healthy classics and fermentations and spices of pickles, popcorn, olives, asparagus, lemons, jalapenos, popcorn, chips, chocolate and more. Everyone is welcome to discover just how many pickle products are available.
“Meet here with friends and family, snap a selfie in front of our mural and find your next pickle obsession,” they said on their website.
The Pickle Factory is open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
