Former Bengals free agent sure sounds like he wants Cincy return

The Cincinnati Bengals have long been suggested as a landing spot for free agent defensive tackle DJ Reader.

No wonder.

Reader was one of the best free-agent signings in Bengals franchise history and helped spur the memorable Super Bowl runs.

Now, he’s on the free-agent market and, as he seemed to hint during an interview with Kay Adams, sure sounds like a guy who would be open to a Bengals return:

Reader, 31, only has a contract projection of roughly $4.5 million.

And the Bengals? They get BJ Hill back, while TJ Slaton is a cut candidate. They have yet to get enough from Kris Jenkins Jr. and the interior of the defensive line is in play at 10th overall.

Linking back up with Reader could solve a lot of issues, never mind help with the locker room leadership thing coaches have talked about this offseason.
