Colonel Crawford's Brayden Holt named District 6 Player of the Year

WILLARD – He has established himself as one of the best players in the state time after time, so it was no surprise the District 6 voters agreed.

Colonel Crawford senior Brayden Holt was named player of the year for the second consecutive season in Division VI. Through 19 games played, he’s averaging 20.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 2.3 steals while shooting 55.1% from the field. His classmate and teammate Payne DeGray was second overall in voting joining him on the first team, he’s at 16.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 2.0 steals, 1.6 blocks per game. And alongside them is Wynford’s Drew Stanek (19.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.7 steals, 0.7 blocks) as the lone sophomore on the first team.

Second teamers include Colonel Crawford juniors John DeGray (7.8 points, 4.8 rebounds) and Parker Weithman (7.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists), and senior Peyton Baker (7.2 points, 44 3PM) as an honorable mention rounds out the Eagles’ starting five. David Sheldon was named Coach of the Year after leading the Eagles to their third consecutive Northern 10 title.

In Division IV, Galion junior Parker Tinch landed on the second team after leading the Tigers with 12.4 points and 5.7 rebounds.

And in Division VII, Crestline junior Kody Lawhorn (15 points) earned first team honors. Buckeye Central senior Hunter Caudill (17.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.9 steals) and Crestline senior Kieran Barnett (11 points) were on the second team.
